Diseases that affect muscle mass
Hypo functioning gonads (testicular tumors)
The male reproductive organs are called testicles. A man's testicles produce a hormone
known as testosterone. During puberty, testosterone levels increase, and cause the
development of secondary sexual characteristics (physical changes) such as: penis
and testicle growth, increase in muscle and bone mass, sex drive, increase in height,
facial and pubic hair, and deepening of the voice. Testosterone levels will
maintain these characteristics throughout a man's adult life, and will also affect
male pattern baldness.
Testicular cancer is the most common form of cancer in males,
between 15 and 35 years of age. The usual course of treatment is surgical removal
of one or both testicles. This causes a decrease or absence of testosterone, and
will cause a decrease in all of the physical changes noted above. Testosterone levels
are affected by the pituitary gland.
Problems caused by testicles malfunction include:
Low back pain
Low energy
Headaches
Low sex drive
Abdominal pain
Delayed puberty
Impotency
Decrease in any secondary sexual characteristics,
Sciatica
such as: decrease in muscle mass, lack of facial
Mood swings
hair, high voice, and feminine characteristic.
Erratic body changes
If you suffer and consider 4 of the above as potential health problems, then you
may be suffering from testicular malfunction.
Hypo pituitarism (tumors)
The Pituitary gland is called the "master gland"
because of its influence on many glands and organs in the body. The pituitary, the
existence of which has been known for 2,000 years, is regulated by the hypothalamus.
It attaches to the hypothalamus by a stalk called the pituitary stalk. The pituitary
weighs less than 1 gram, but do not let its size fool you, because it has a dramatic
effect over all body chemistry.
The pituitary controls the:

In turn, these glands have a dramatic control over organ
and system function in the body.
The purpose of the pituitary is to:
Common health problems of pituitary malfunction may include:

Diabetes
to weight problems
Hypoglycemia
A sluggish or overactive thyroid
Weak immune system leading

Fatigue or lack of energy

Fluid retention from kidney, bladder,

Inadequacy and feeling out of control

Poor memory
Erectile dysfunction
Dwelling on sexual matters
Lack of sex drive
Greed with disregard for others
Depression
If you suffer and consider 4 of the above as potential health problems,
then you may be suffering from pituitary malfunction.

Hypo adrenalism (tumors)
The adrenal or suprarenal glands are paired with each gland located on the upper
portion of each kidney. Each gland is actually two endocrine glands divided into
an outer layer, which is called the cortex, and an inner layer, called the medulla.
The adrenal cortex is necessary and essential to life, but the medulla is not and
can be removed with no life-threatening effects.
The adrenal cortex produces hormones called glucocorticoids that help in the control
of blood sugar and increase the burning of protein, sugar and fat. These hormones
also respond to fever, major illness/disease, and injury. Another group of hormones
from the adrenal cortex are called mineralcorticoids. These hormones control the
volume of blood (thus regulating blood pressure) by affecting the kidneys to maintain
sodium potassium and water levels. A third group of hormones called androgens (sex
hormones) affect secondary sex characteristics in both men and women.
The adrenal medulla produces a hormone known as epinephrine (adrenaline), which
increases the heart rate, dilates (opens) airways to improve oxygen intake, and
increases blood flow to muscles. This usually occurs when a person is excited or
stressed. A second hormone, known as Norepinephrine, is also produced by the adrenal
medulla. This hormone is related more to maintaining normal activities as opposed
to emergency reactions.
Problems caused by the adrenal cortex include:
Fever
Loss of secondary sexual characteristics
Frequent urination
Osteoporosis
Emotional or mood swings
Kidney conditions
Mid back pain
Fluid retention
Inflammatory reactions
Kidney stones
High/Low blood pressure
Weight gain
Rapid pulse
Difficulty handling sugar, protein or fats
Loss of sex drive
Problems caused by the adrenal medulla include:
Fatigue
High/Low blood pressure
Emotional or mood swings
Rapid pulse
Mid back pain
If you suffer and consider 4 of the above as potential health problems, then you
may be suffering from adrenal cortex malfunction.

Hypothyroidism
Diseases of the thyroid are the most common of all the endocrine glands, notably
due to iodine deficiencies in North America. The thyroid, one of the larger endocrine
glands, is located in front of your breathing airway (trachea), and below your Adam's
apple. The thyroid produces two hormones:
Thyroxin, which controls your metabolism (how much energy you burn)
Calcitonin, which controls calcium and phosphorus levels in the bone and the
blood by taking calcium and phosphorus out of the blood, and depositing
them into the bones.
Thyroid disorders result from either too little (hypothyroid) or too much
(hyperthyroid) thyroxin or calcitonin.
Symptoms of Hypothyroidism include:
Symptoms of Hyperthyroidism include:
Anxiety
Like working under pressure
Fast heart rate
Mentally active
Diarrhea
Irritability
Weight loss
Mood swings
Bulging eyes
High self-esteem
Qualities of aggressive
Difficulty sleeping, relaxing or resting
overachievement
If you suffer and consider 4 of the above as potential health problems, then you
may be suffering from thyroid malfunction.
Muscle wasting diseases
In order for you to increase your muscle mass you must have:
The right diet
The right exercise program
A healthy ENDOCRINE SYSTEM
A healthy REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
Your sex hormones determine how much muscle you can put on.
For example, if you have a low testosterone level you can only gain so much muscle
as compared to a person who's testosterone level is high who can gain muscle with
ease.

How a Blood Analysis test can help you even more
Remember, it's always important when beginning a new health regime to get a blood
analysis first to see if you have a health condition that has a biochemical imbalance
as the root cause. This test will identify as well as determine what type of diet
you should be eating and which organs or glands may be malfunctioning. This
information will help determine which supplements you require. This is
about as specific and focused as you can get using nutritional support

ABOUT NUTRACEUTICALS >>
Nutraceuticals are supplements designed to improve nutrition, thereby optimizing
health. Everyone, regardless of his/her original state of health, can benefit from
improved nutrition.
Nutraceuticals are designed and manufactured to improve nutrition rather than treat
disease. However scientific research has established a connection between nutrition
and many disease conditions.
